Get Paid to Beta Test Games
News - Software News
Written by The Dragon

 1. Why would companies pay?you to beta test games?

The game industry is now over a $50 billion dollar business. In the case of nationwide companies, producing games that have bugs in them -- games that the customers will return, means losing millions of dollars, and likely jobs.

If you buy a new MMORPG that crashes every time your character jumps while running, chances are you will not like the game and tell all of your friends not to buy it. This is a serious setback for the game company. The customers that bought their product will not buy it again and neither will their friends. This company now will have invested millions of dollars in game development, manufacturing, shipping, and marketing costs but no one will buy their game because of one glitch.

Vista gamers need 2GB plus of memory
News - Software News
Written by The Dragon

RECENTLY The Inquirer managed to spend some time using a Vista machine. The machine had Athlon 4000+ and 2 GB of memory with Geforce 7800 GTX card. They installed a game and we didn?t have anything else than Far Cry at the moment. They wanted to check how much memory you actually will need to play games on Vista. I know it is a beta, but it will at least give you a feeling what could you expect from the final one. They moved the community with their story where when said you need up to 800 MB memory just to run Vista.

Skinning your Xbox 360
News - Console News
Written by The Dragon

Skinned Xbox 360With the dawn of the Xbox 360 Microsoft took its new console in an entirely different direction when it came to the style and design. While the new style is indeed impressive, it is the lack of color options that leaves us wanting for more.

White may appeal to the average consumer but, for most of us, the Xbox 360?s white and chrome color scheme is just a tad bit too plain. So, what options does that leave you with? ASUS EAX X1900 XTX Review
News - Hardware News
Written by The Dragon
Radeon EAX X1900 XTXIt's been an interesting year for ATI. The original plan to launch their next generation part, the R520 went astray, just making it into the market in October of 2005, instead of the spring or early summer as planned. This forced ATI to make hard decisions on their planned refresh part, the R580 series. ATI chose to launch R580 in the beginning of January of 2006, making the X1800XT and X1800XL an extremely short-lived product. Prices on the X1800XT and X1800XL are currently at $479 for a X1800XT or $388 for an X1800XL.The replacement X1900XTX sells on Pricewatch currently for $575
