Apple recently pulled its newest update from the shelves due to problems that were being caused with it. Some users have been experiencing the occasional “CUI Error” after upgrading to OS X 10.7.3 earlier this week.

Good news for those of you on Lion that haven’t updated, as Apple’s pulled the 10.7.3 delta update (responsible for causing the error), leaving those who haven’t taken the plunge to try the larger (and non-problematic) 1.26gb combo update. Download it from Apple if you want to update safely.

About OS X Lion Update 10.7.3 (Client Combo)

The 10.7.3 update is recommended for all OS X Lion users and includes general operating system fixes that improve the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac including fixes that:

Add Catalan, Croatian, Greek, Hebrew, Romanian, Slovak, Thai, and Ukrainian language support

Address issues when using smart cards to log into OS X

Resolve issues authenticating with directory services

Create your own personal cloud! is a post from: Stuffworks.com

There are a bunch of cloud storage services available today and many of them are free however they don’t usually offer much space to use for storing photos, music or videos.

If storing a large number of files, music or photos, or if you need to store really large files such as movies or backups of programs and .ISO files; then setting up your own personal cloud storage may be just the thing you need.

The 2 easiest ways to get your own personal cloud storage service started are both fairly easy to setup.

1. Tonido – Open source cloud storage software for most Windows, Mac and Linux.
2. PogoPlug – Free for limited use or paid if you want extended features.

Both options use your computers HDD as the cloud storage so the amount of space you get on your cloud is limited only by the space you have on your computer. Both options also offer a hardware device that you can plug into your home internet connection that allow you to plug in a USB hard drive that can be accessed from anywhere on any device.

There is a Tonido app available for both apple and android devices that allow you to access your personal cloud from anywhere. You can also access your cloud from a computer by visiting your own personal tonido website.

PogoPlug also offers an app on both apple and android devices and with it you can stream music, movies and access documents from anywhere.

The biggest limitation to creating your own personal cloud is your internet connection speed. If you have a slow internet speed at home, having your own personal cloud will be fairly slow so having a fast internet speed is recommended.

Both services offer similar features and plenty of expansion options so no matter which one you choose you will be able to access any of your shared files on any device, anytime. You can even share selected files or folders with friends or family.

Check out both services and let us know your opinion about which one is better.

app Mobi Browser based XDK is a post from: Stuffworks.com

appMobi provides development tools and services that complete HTML5 as a mobile platform, bringing it on par with iOS and Android as a fully capable mobile platform. appMobi’s post-deployment cloud services include user authentication, in-app payments, rich media push messaging, user analytics and live app updates.

appMobi’s XDK (cross platform development kit) allows developers to use HTML5 technology to create fully functional mobile apps that run across different hardware platforms, including Android and iOs. Additionally, the XDK can render the exact same code as a ‘web app’ or an ‘enhanced’ web app that performs exactly the same as a native app. In August 2011, appMobi made the XDK available as a plugin for the Google Chrome browser, offering developers an extremely easy to use tool stack for HTML5.

By leveraging the high functionality and ubiquity of webkit-based browsers and advanced web standards such as HTML5 and CSS3, appMobi allows web developers to create mobile apps without the need to conquer the high learning curves of each platform’s development stack (Objective C, Cocoa Touch for Apple, C++ and Java for Android).

appMobi is available through the Google Chrome Web Store which requires Google Chrome to be installed, available here.

5gb free space on Dropbox is a post from: Stuffworks.com

Fix infinite restart of Dropbox when database was corrupted. Fix import error on iPhone with lots and lots of photos. Better Handling of out of quota issues on first photo import. Other small fixes

According to the Dropbox forum, the newest public beta comes with a bonus, you get 500mb of space added to your account for up to 4.5gb of space.

Toshiba Thrive – Hands On is a post from: Stuffworks.com

I recently got my hands on the toshiba thrive and have been very happy with the results. The most impressive thing about the Toshiba Thrive is the full size ports that it comes equiped with. Having the full size HDMI and SD card slot along with the 2 USB ports makes this tablet a real contender, mostly because you don’t have to bring along a bunch of dongle style accessories for it to be functional.

The built in GPS works well as long a you have a good GPS program or a wifi signal to use google maps. Voice navigation is good if you install SVOX classic and a couple of voices to go with it.

The camera leaves quite a bit to be desired but that is not usually the reason to buy a tablet anyway so it is not a deal beaker for most people. Having the replaceable battery is great for those occasions when you have to be away for an extended period of time.

There are plenty of apps to download for entertainment purposes but it would be nice to have some good photo our video editing apps to play with like the ones available on the iPad.

The Toshiba Thrive is a really thick tablet but it is worth it to get the full size ports, rumor has it that Toshiba is going to release a new sleeker model of tablet but with mini ports like the other tablets but not as bad as the Samsung tablet that requires an accessory dongle to get any ports at all.

Overall I think that the Toshiba Thrive is a worthy tablet contender and could come in handy for anyone who might need full size ports for everyday or occasional use.

Hopefully they update the tablet to OS 3.2 soon.

Easy Tether Pro is an easy to use tethering app that shares your phones internet connection with your computer with minimal setup and almost no experience, it is truly one of the easiest tethering solutions on the market today for android phones.

For easy Tether to work on your PC, Mac or Linux system, you must install the appropriate tunneling software, free from the developers website, and connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable. Following the instructions in the app will have you surfing the web in no time.

Product Features

Supports Windows 7/Vista/XP (32-bit and 64-bit), Mac OS-X 10.6/10.5/10.4, and Ubuntu 10.4+ Supports TCP and UDP–implemented as a normal NAT application Supports you with free lifetime upgrades

Product Description

Detailed instructions with every step

More answers with a single click

EasyTether shares your Android smartphone connection with your PC. This handy app from Mobile Stream allows you to tether your Android to a desktop or notebook computer. EasyTether uses exactly the same data plan that you already use for your on-phone internet access, and your USB connection ensures a fast transfer speed. Access your built-in browser, e-mail, and YouTube applications with no additional tethering or broadband fees.

Compatible Across Platforms EasyTether works with all carriers including Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and AT&T. This app supports Windows, Mac, and Ubuntu operating systems. While you’re tethering your Android phone to your PC, you will also appreciate the tethering capabilities for your PS3, XBox 360, or Wii via Windows Internet Connection Sharing. The app’s UDP support for games extends to L2TP VPN and some IM apps, as well.

Easy Setup Process Unlike other apps that touch your phone at the system level, EasyTether does not require rooting, which is great news for AT&T customers as well as everyone else, since you save the time, extra downloading, and complications associated with rooting a phone. This app only uses official, certified APIs to protect your phone’s security. Just follow the on-screen instructions, make sure your computer has your phone’s latest driver, and if you have any questions, one click sends you through to your answers in the developer’s detailed FAQ.

Smart Connection Solution Whether an emergency requires immediate internet access or data transfer, you don’t have access to a strong WiFi connection, or you simply want to avoid the high cost of wireless broadband, using your 3G or 4G coverage by tethering your phone saves you time and frustration. When you use hotel WiFi services, your internet connection often slows to a crawl, and simple transfers that should require mere seconds may take several minutes.

One license is tied to one phone, so you may install the computer-side software on as many computer systems as you need. The easiest way to setup another computer for EasyTether is to re-run the setup wizard in the smartphone-side application. EasyTether frees your netbook, laptop, or desktop computer while you wait at the airport or take a road trip, and it may save you between $30 and $70 per month in broadband charges wherever you need to access an internet connection.

Product Reviews
“EasyTether Pro takes your hand and walks you gently into Tetherland. You’ll be tethering with this app for years to come, as long as your carrier still offers unlimited data. While the setup prcoess may be a bit tricky for the least tech savvy, most users will be up and tethering in no time. Tether on my friends. 9.5/10″ – Ben Freed, App Rundown

“While EasyTether involves a bit more work than rooted tether apps, it is a nice solution for people that can’t or don’t want to root their phones.” – Ed Clark, Androinica

“Overall, EasyTether is a great app to have. It is very useful and since it is USB enabled it will not drain your battery. The speed is excellent even though it is coming from a smartphone. I suggest that you go Pro for $9.99 just because it will allow you to access websites that you will probably need to access anyway (HTTPS).” – The Good Find

Google has indicated that tablets and smartphones won’t be sharing the same Android build until Ice Cream Sandwich, scheduled to be released in Q4, though interestingly enough, it turns out that Honeycomb actually has Gingerbread’s interface quietly tucked underneath. According to modder Graffix0214, all you need for making the jump is one simple tweak in a system file: assuming you already have root access, use your preferred method –Pocketables recommends the LCDDensity for Root app –to change the LCD density value to 170 or higher to emulate a smaller, denser display. After a reboot, you should then see the familiar gingerbread launcher.

Functional Medicine

Functional medicine is an alternative modality that focuses on improving the physiological function as a primary method of improving the health of patients with chronic disease.

Therapeusis defines this approach as “personalized medicine” that deals with primary prevention and underlying causes, using your signs and symptoms, to ameliorate chronic conditions.

Functional medicine practitioners provide chronic care management with the belief that:

“Diet, nutrition, and exposure to environmental toxins play central roles in functional medicine because they may predispose to illness, provoke symptoms, and modulate the activity of biochemical mediators through a complex and diverse set of mechanisms.”

The Therapeusis program identifies 33 organ systems as a functional assessment based on the results that you enter through our questionnaires. The program will generate 3 areas of concern for the condition(s):

1. Immediate Concerns [Herbs-Vitamins-Minerals]

This is the organ system that is of immediate concern, contributing to your sign and symptoms. Conditions should improve with herbal tea(s), dietary reform, and correcting vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

2. Core Cause [Eclectic Remedy]

This is the organ system that must be dealt with in order to fully remedy the condition(s) and prevent a return of your symptoms. Homeopathic polycrests are known to be most suitable.

3. Anchor Initiators [Subconscious - Emotional]

The anchor point is where you arrived in early life that set the patterns and staging of the adult onset of symptoms. Memories, habits and life style adaptations have weighed in as “viewpoints” or aberrated thinking patterns resulting in unresolved conflicts, avoidance factors, and deep emotional issues. Anchor points are best treated spiritually with methods like counseling, hypnosis, PCT (photocognitive therapy), etc.

When your results are received, simply click on the organ link and retrieve a full explanation page of the gland/organ, diet and lifestyle changes that will improve the condition(s).

Sample results shown below.
