You can get 2gb of free storage on any day of the week but for a limited time Dropbox is offering up to 5gb of free storage to try out their free beta version of dropbox available for download now. Because this is a limited time offer and it only gives you space in 500mg increments, up to 5gb, you have to upload photos to the Dropbox in order to get more space.

Here is a direct quote from the Dropbox forums about this limited time beta;

For every 500MB of photos and videos automatically uploaded, you’ll receive another 500MB space bonus, up to 4.5GB total. 500MB of free space on first photo import Cleanup UI in Windows non admin installation. Fix infinite restart of Dropbox when database was corrupted. Fix import error on iPhone with lots and lots of photos. Better Handling of out of quota issues on first photo import. Other small fixes

According to the Dropbox forum, the newest public beta comes with a bonus, you get 500mb of space added to your account for up to 4.5gb of space.

[Update: To clarify, you can get up to 5GB of free space with this feature, if you count the initial 500MB space for the first photo import].
